Hair Chronicles

My thoughts, rantings, and quest for the truth about keeping healthy hair . . .

About Me

I am hair obsessed and I am proud of it.

I started this blog because I am the ultimate consumer of hair care services.  As a black woman, I contribute to the $1.8 billion consumed in the black hair care market each year.  I have been going to the hair salon (which began in my aunt’s kitchen) since I was 10.  From the green grease in the mysterious jar to the all-natural hair pomade that I use today with only 5 organic ingredients, I have tried a lot of products in the quest for healthy hair that looked good.

My mission is the share the information that I have learned with my sisterfriends across the country.  I have learned some lessons the hard way through blindly sitting in salon chairs.  Others I have learned by investigating the real deal after the fact.  Educating my fellow hair obsessed friends about what is fact vs. fiction is my goal.

In addition, I hope to provide some useful information for those in the hair care profession.  I have been blessed to work with some really good hair stylists who knew how to guide clients to hair success.  But I have also visited others that have had me running to the car in search of a hat (and a new stylist).

I hope that this blog will at least help answer the age old question “what am I going to do with my hair” and helps you on the road to hair that inspires compliments.  We all know that there is nothing better than a good hair day.
